Featured Expert: Incels on iHeart Podcasts

The “Incel” (involuntary celibate) conversation is ubiquitous in 2026, dominating many of the discussions about men, masculinity, and the “manosphere.” In 2025, I was invited as a featured expert for the podcast series “Incels” on iHeart’s True Crime podcast network.

Here is the description of the show:

“Hidden deep in online forums, a growing subculture thrives on anger, isolation, and blame: incels, or “involuntary celibates.” Incels see themselves as rejected by women and overshadowed by so-called “Chads”—the confident, attractive men they believe they can never be. Their frustration often mutates into open hostility, harassment, and, in the most extreme cases, acts of violence.

Incels takes listeners inside this unsettling world—not to sensationalize it, but to understand it. Through expert analysis, first-hand accounts, and the voices of former incels, we break down how these communities operate, why they’re growing, and the psychological traps that keep men locked in cycles of resentment. With chilling stories and deep insight, Incels reveals the human cost of a culture built on hate—and the path forward for those ready to leave it behind.”

I believe it is our responsibility as men to create the communities and cultures that help men recognize other ways of being men, and change the reality of frustration, hopelessness, and disconnection that fuels the incel culture. These men are not failures. They are not hopeless. They are, however, deeply misled by a culture that blames and attacks women, feminism, and ‘successful’ men instead of confronting the complexity of systemic factors that have fundamentally changed men’s self-perception and opportunities in the world.

In Wellness + Wisdom episode 258, Marketing & Communications Director for The ManKind Project USA and author of The New MachoBoysen Hodgson, explains what has created “toxic” masculinity and feminity, how men and women can process and connect through safe spaces, and the #IAmResponsible Campaign that MKP has launched in response to #MeToo.

Mentoring Creates Emotional Safety

I was recently quoted in an article by Harvey Deutschendorf for Fast Company Magazine on building cultures of mentoring in organizations. The same article was republished in HR Professional Magazine. Building relational skills is an important aspect of men’s work.
