I’ve been using your piece with adolescent boys for 6 years or so.  As a clinician working with young men I find that giving them space to explore how to interact with the world from a different vantage point that they can actually fight for is attractive to them.  I ask them to journal aspects of the NM they desire and have as well as the “Old Macho” and how they fall into false, insecure narratives of bravado.  We explore the needs that are met through both approaches.  Its been a pivotal document for many boys over the years.
